I and You is a complex, touching, funny, and extremely moving story of two 17-year olds brought together by very unique circumstances. Caroline is very sick. Her liver is failing. She has been pulled out of school and is confined to her room. Anthony is a classmate of hers that she barely knows. He comes over unannounced to work on a class project — for which they have been apparently paired — about Walt Whitman. What happens between them in this 95 minutes is life changing.
The play’s author, Lauren Gunderson, is currently the most produced playwright in the United States and yet somehow, remains unknown to a vast majority of Canadian theatregoers. This production will change that, and in a big way.
