Storytelling is an essential part of human experience. It’s how we connect with others, make sense of our lives, entertain, and enlighten ourselves. This free writing group for seniors (55+) is designed to help you foster your creative voice by exploring various forms of storytelling (short stories, memoir, poetry, playwriting, etc.) and placing your personal stories at the heart of the learning journey. Our expert facilitators will help you craft and share your unique narratives. No writing experience is required (though it is welcome) – just bring your enthusiasm, willingness to experiment, meet new people, and enrich your collection of memorable stories. Come embrace your creative identity, connect with peers, and build an inclusive community where all voices are heard and valued.
This project will culminate in a final presentation event, where friends and family can be invited to hear your writing read by professional actors and celebrate the group’s unique perspectives and storycraft.
Over this 10 week course participants will:
- Develop and explore writing skills and styles
- Learn from highly experienced writers and facilitators
- Build connection and community through dialogue, storytelling, and creative expression
