WE’RE FUNNY THAT WAY – MAINSPACE
by Various Artists
June 13, 2019 – June 15, 2019
Mainspace
The world’s longest running queer performance festival is still going strong…
The WE’RE FUNNY THAT WAY Festival has featured national and international queer icons, up & comers, and a mind-blowing variety of talent since 1997. Over the course of 20 years the festival has raised close to half a million dollars for LGBTQ2S charities across Canada.
This year the Foundation is thrilled to be supporting the Shining Mountains Two Spirit Renewal Project in Red Deer, Alberta. Shining Mountains is an aboriginal centre that provides services that address homelessness, suicide prevention, domestic violence, addiction, healthy lifestyles, self-sufficiency, advocacy, HIV/AIDS and/or HCV. Proceeds from the festival this year will go directly to fund the Two Spirit Renewal project with an emphasis on helping LGBTQ2S youth.
