Oct 5, 2019 – Oct 5, 2019 in the Workspace
Tang Ina is a play about exhaustion.
Nina & Lolet come from very different worlds but find common ground in their struggle as Filipinas in Canada. Through conversations between Filipino women, the play explores the exhaustion that Filipino women take on, the emotional and physical labour that burdens their bodies, to support their families and community.
Tang Ina is Alia Rasul’s first play. It was initially created through Living Room Residency and was first presented at the Living Room Festival, with the support of the Toronto Arts Council and ArtReach.
With the support of the Toronto Arts Council, it is currently being developed into a full-length play.
This reading is PWYC/by donation. All proceeds will go back to the artists involved in the workshop.
